A division of AkzoNobel, International is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of high performance boat paint, yacht coatings and marine protection.
International’s Intersleek range is built on 30 years of silicone foul-release technology, helping vessel operators control fouling, reduce drag and maintain more efficient performance at sea.
The video needed to introduce two distinct solutions within the range. Intersleek 1100SR is International’s highest-performing silicone foul-release coating, developed for vessels operating under demanding conditions. Intersleek 2120 extends the benefits of silicone technology to a broader range of commercial vessels, offering operators a practical transition from traditional biocidal antifouling systems.
Our challenge was to turn this detailed and highly technical proposition into a clear, engaging film that could communicate the differences between the products while presenting them as part of one cohesive Intersleek story.
We worked in partnership with a Dutch design agency, which developed the script and storyboard for the film.
Using this creative direction as our foundation, the Wax Digital team curated footage that could communicate the scale, movement and demanding operating conditions of the international shipping industry. We also selected the music and brought the individual visual elements together through a carefully paced edit.
Sound played an important role in giving the film impact. Alongside the music and voiceover, we created and incorporated sound effects throughout the edit to reinforce the movement of vessels, the marine environment and the transition between key messages.
We also collaborated with voiceovers.co.uk to develop the film’s professional voiceover, ensuring the delivery complemented the visual style while making the technical product story clear and accessible.

The completed video presents the Intersleek range through a confident and cohesive narrative, combining real-world marine footage, motion, music, voiceover and detailed sound design.
It explains how Intersleek 1100SR delivers premium performance for vessels with the most demanding operational requirements, while positioning Intersleek 2120 as an accessible, cost-effective route into silicone foul-release technology for a wider range of vessel operators.
By working collaboratively across agencies and specialist partners, we transformed the supplied script and storyboard into a polished film that communicates a complex technical proposition in a concise, visually engaging way.
